Maldives and Japan Signs Four Exchange of Notes




Today, the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of Japan signed four bilateral agreements, underscoring a significant advancement in enhancing the current relations between the two nations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Moosa Zameer, and the Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, Her Excellency Takeuchi Midori, signed the four Exchange of Notes during a ceremony hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Zameer expressed appreciation for Japan's continuous support and emphasized the importance of this partnership in promoting the socio-economic progress of the Maldives. He also emphasized Japan's pivotal role as a key development partner and reaffirmed the Maldives' dedication to enhancing diplomatic relations with Japan.


 


The signing ceremony was attended by Commissioner General Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Maldives Customs Service, National Disaster Management Authority, and the Embassy of Japan in Maldives.
