Customs Intercepts 3.3 kg of Drugs Smuggled via Courier

The Maldives Customs Service has intercepted 3.3 kg of drugs smuggled into the country through a courier service.

The contraband was discovered during the inspection of two packages imported via courier to the Maldives.

On March 20, customs officials conducted a search of the packages. The first package weighed 3.1 kg, while the second weighed 210 grams. Initial testing identified synthetic cathinone in the seized items.

The confiscated drugs have been transferred to Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
