Customs Seizes MVR 17 Million Worth of Drugs Smuggled via Air in Two Months




Over the past two months, MCS intercepted drugs worth MVR 17 million smuggled into the country via air.


The seized drugs totaled 7.8 kilograms and included:



These seizures occurred on various dates in April and May of this year and were discovered during additional searches of passengers arriving in the Maldives by air and parcels brought into the country via courier, following suspicions raised by certain items.


The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately MVR 17.7 million


suspects involved in these cases and the seized drugs have been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
