Customs Seizes 5.3kg of Heroin from Pakistani Passenger




Customs authorities intercepted 5.3 kilograms of heroin from a Pakistani passenger traveling through Qatar on March 12, 2024. The 56-year-old male passenger raised suspicions during routine screening procedures. Upon further inspection of his luggage, customs officials discovered suspicious items that tested positive for heroin, totaling 5.3kg in weight.


The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately MVR 5,300,000. Following the seizure, the passenger was handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation and legal proceedings.
