Export Procedures

Submission of information on export goods

Before loading good into a craft for export or re-export from Maldives, the exporter should provide true and complete details about quantities, F.O.B. price of the goods in a manner declared by the Customs.

 

To process the export declaration, goods declaration along with the required documents should be submitted to customs. After processing export declaration, export duty should be paid as prescribed by the law for export goods.

Customs may exempt the submission of export declaration in certain situations such as for baggage of crew and passengers of crafts departing from the Maldives.

 

Release of export goods

Goods to be exported from the Maldives shall not be released from Customs control unless the following conditions are met.

• Export duties for the goods are fully paid or a payment due to any other authority is paid fully
• Until Customs ascertain such goods are subject to duty exemption
• Until customs ascertain that the cargo destined to be exported is for private purpose and is subject to duty exemptio
